18012 Laser LASER: Communications error: No response Green The recorder should be reset. If this does not help, check that the red LED is lit on the laser power supply. If it isn't, check the power supply's cables and fuse. Check that AC is being supplied. If not, suspect the relay on the power distribution board. If the power supply appears ok, the cable from the laser power supply to the laser controller should be checked. The serial cable from the laser to the backplane should be inspected and replaced if not loose. Since the only other option is to replace the laser, the MPE should be replaced first. If this doesn't help, this error is likely due to a faulty laser controller. Note that the controller and the laser are matched and therefore the controller cannot be replaced without replacing the laser. Reboot the Platesetter. Contact Creo Service if rebooting does not help.
